One thing we love about DIY beauty recipes is how simple they generally are to create. One particularly simple thing to make is an eye gel. They are wonderful for decreasing puffiness & hydrating tired skin. Add some almond oil and you have a gel which can help diminish dark circles! Pop in a drop of lavender oil to help stimulate and nourish lashes and follicles 🙂
Best of all, you only need  a few ingredients to make them.
One simple recipe is as follows:
~One large aloe vera leaf (use the gel part only, not the fibers)
~1/2 a medium sized cucumber
~ 1 tsp Witch hazel
- Slice the aloe vera leaf length ways and carefully scoop out the gel part.
- Chop the cucumber and blend it. Strain juice through cheese cloth or a nut bag (these are fabulous!)
- Mix 1 tsp of witch hazel and 1tsp cucumber juice and mix through aloe vera gel until you reach the desired consistency
- Store it in the fridge and use each morning!                                                  It’s good to make regular small batches of these preparations as they do not contain preservatives and don’t last very long. Try to use it up within a couple of weeks and use clean fingers to apply. You can also use aloe vera gel from a bottle to make this, although most brands do tend to have a bunch of nasty preservatives and additives in them which kind of defeats the purpose of making natural products yourself.. Read the ingredients labels very carefully. If you don’t want to make your own eye gel, or simply don’t have the time, we have wonderful Firming Eye serum which contains Organic rosehip oil, green tea extract and cucumber extract.
